Abstract

Business intelligence (BI) dashboards have changed how managers of current organizations think when making decisions about their company's operations. The environment in which companies operate on a global basis is influenced by globalization, technological innovation, digital transformation, and greater competition than ever before; therefore, managers must rely on BI dashboards to make better decisions that will impact their company in an uncertain future. Furthermore, old-fashioned management practices based on disorganized and incomplete records, dated report generation, and outdated assessment and evaluation methods do not suffice to manage operational needs and evolving strategies in real-time. The emergence of BI dashboards provides managers of enterprises with the capability to synthesize large amounts of both structured and unstructured data into a real-time analytical decision-support system by utilizing advanced visualization capabilities and advanced analytical tools. This paper explores how BI dashboards have improved the effectiveness of managers' decisions across varying organizational contexts and proposes a unified framework that illustrates how organizations utilize BI dashboards in support of the strategic, tactical, and operational levels. The research demonstrates that organizations that have well-integrated BI dashboards achieve increased accuracy, transparency, responsiveness, and accountability in their decisionmaking processes, while also decreasing the cognitive burden on decision makers and eliminating the problem of information asymmetry. Additionally, this research emphasizes that an organization must have strong leadership commitment, effective data governance and security, user-friendly interface design, and a culture of readiness to sustain BI value.
