Abstract

We have developed a phosphine-functionalized porous organic polymer-supported Pd catalyst (Pd/POP-PPh3) by employing polymerizable tris(4-vinylphenyl)phosphane (3vPPh3) and PdCl2 as precursors. The catalyst was characterized by FT-IR, TGA, N2 adsorption/desorption, XPS, SEM and TEM. Under the optimized conditions, the Pd/POP-PPh3 catalyst enabled the heterogeneous hydrogenation of nitriles to the corresponding secondary amines in high yields (84-96%) and excellent substrate compatibility. Furthermore, the catalyst exhibited good stability and recyclability, maintaining its activity for at least five consecutive reaction cycles.
