Abstract

Background: Split-thickness skin grafts (STSGs) are widely applied for coverage of raw areas but remain at risk of failure, particularly in high-risk patients.Aim: To compare the effects of PRF and PRP on STSG take in high-risk patients.Patients and Methods: This randomized controlled research has been carried out on 20 patients at the Plastic Surgery Departments of Badr and Al-Helmia hospitals. In each patient, the raw area was divided into two parts: Group I: one part was injected with iPRF and then covered with a split-thickness skin graft (STSG), and Group II: the other part was injected with PRP and then covered with STSG.Results: Baseline characteristics were similar between groups. PRF showed significant improvement in intraoperative adhesion (p=0.001) and postoperative graft take (97.7% ± 1.7% for PRF vs. 80.9% ± 17.5% for PRP, p
