Abstract

: The vast spread of COVID-19 necessitates the transition of teaching from face to face in the universities into digital teaching. The later one has its pros and cons. In this study, the pros and cons were explored from student’ perspectives with referring to their preference regarding the method of teaching and it was gender based. Qualitative and quantitative data were collected via a questionnaire sent to the students. It was found that students’ preference to either method of lectures was equal (50%/50%), while (82%) students have preferred digital exams over conventional ones. Male and female were not statistically significantly different in choosing lectures (P=0.19) or exams. As a conclusion, dental students showed an equal preference to using either method of lectures (electronic, conventional). The vast majority of students prefer classroom exams over distance one. Males and female showed an equal attitude toward conventional and electronic lectures and exams.
