Abstract
Abstract of Research It’s well- known that children with autism disorder suffer from a deficit in social skills. They always prefer isolation as they have few weak relations with both adults and kids. Besides, they have other features such as social withdrawal and avoidance, social indifference, social confusion, isolation and inability to set up social ties with others. They don’t tend to befriend their peers nor show feelings of love and compassion towards them. An autistic child remains still most of his time; he doesn’t ask for others’ concern. If he smiles, he does so only for things not for people. He rejects and avoids kidding and pampering. Also, he doesn’t feel happy when someone opens his arm to embrace him and to explain feelings of compassion towards him. Most parents complain of their autistic child’s indifference to any attempt to show love or to kiss him. Nor do they find any concern with their existence. It’s rare that an autistic child explains feelings towards others as he lacks emotive tone and expressive ability. Due to rapid progress of information technology around us, virtual reality has become a modern educational tool in our contemporary world and it can be exploited to face deficits of autistic children especially that of social isolation. It has achieved a great success with this category as this tool is characterized by suspense, excitement and ability to draw attention. Keywords: Virtual reality- Autism- Social skills - Isolation
