Abstract

Ptah oil field is located in Egypt's North Western Desert, near the northwest edge of the Shushan basin. This research aims to using the seismic and petrophysical data to enhanced structure, facies and petrophysical model, investigate the possibility of oil, helping us to make the volumetrics for the current trap, making development plan and calculating the un-discovered oil reserve at the study area. The principal oil-bearing reservoirs in this region are the Alam El Bueib-3D reservoir for the Lower Cretaceous and the Shiffah Formation for the Lower Paleozoic. The AEB Formation is distinguished by its thick massive argillaceous to calcareous sandstones, interbedded with shale, while Shiffah reservoir is composed of medium to coarse grained cross-bedded sandstone. The subsurface structural characteristics were identified and delineated by the interpretation of seismic data. The Petrophysical evaluation was carried for AEB-3D and Shiffah B SD reservoirs. Finally, a 3D structural model was constructed to better subsurface imaging and offer a more precise assessment. The results provide crucial information on the formation's subsurface architecture and hydrocarbon potential, offering helpful direction for strategic decision-making in exploration and production operations throughout the Shushan Basin. With the help of this model, we calculated the recoverable oil in the field which reaches to (21 MMSTB) for Alam El Bueib and (30 MMSTB) for Shiffah reservoirs, this model gives us a clear understanding of the structure elements affecting on the area and opened a new area of drilling which gives us additional reserve by about (44 MMSTB) for both targets.
