Clinical and Radiographic evaluation of Sticky bone with Amniotic Membrane versus Platelet Rich Fibrin Membrane in Alveolar Cleft Repair
Abstract
To assess Clinical and Radiographic evaluation of Sticky bone with Amniotic Membrane versus Platelet Rich Fibrin Membrane in Alveolar Cleft Repair. fourteen Patients divided into 2 equal groups: Group I: consisted of seven patients with unilateral alveolar cleft grafted with sticky bone and covered by platelet rich fibrin membrane. Group II: consisted of seven patients with unilateral alveolar cleft grafted with sticky bone and covered by amniotic membrane. at day 7 for suture breakdown, dehiscence, swelling, oedema, infection, graft rejection, and pain were assessed. Assessment of newly formed Bone density and bone volume 3, 6 months postoperatively. Both groups showed a statistically significant decrease in mean bone density measurements at 6 months (0.017* and 0.015* respectively). Sticky bone/ amniotic group II showed a higher percentage of bone density than Sticky bone/PRF group I. Sticky bone/ amniotic group II showed higher percentage of newly formed bone than Sticky bone/PRF group I. the amniotic membrane in this study demonstrated significant efficacy in expediting alveolar cleft repair and exhibited superior indications of bone healing and creation.
