Abstract

This research aimed to reveal the reality of using motion graphics in developing problem-solving skills in the digital skills curriculum for sixth-grade students in Jeddah. It employed a quasi-experimental design with two groups: an experimental group and a control group. Data were collected through pre- and post-tests using research instruments consisting of an achievement test and an observation checklist. These instruments measured the cognitive and performance aspects of problem-solving skills using the STEAM approach. The research sample consisted of 70 sixth-grade female students, divided into two groups of 35 students each. The results showed the effectiveness of motion graphics in developing the cognitive and performance aspects of problem-solving skills using the STEAM approach among sixth-grade female students. Based on these findings, the researcher recommended employing motion graphics in education, particularly in teaching programming and robotics in general education, and developing digital learning environments based on the STEAM approach. To support students' higher-order thinking skills and develop their problem-solving abilities in real-life contexts.
