THE EFFECTIVENESS OF A PROPOSED PROGRAM BASED ON THE ELECTRONIC CLOUD TO DEVELOP CONCEPTS OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT AND SKILLS AMONG FIRST-GRADE SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS
Abstract
The study aimed to develop sustainable development concepts and skills among first-year secondary school students through a cloud-based program. The researchers used an experimental approach to study the effect of the independent variable (the proposed cloud-based program) on the dependent variables (the first dependent variable being sustainable development concepts and the second dependent variable being related skills). The researchers followed the experimental approach, selecting a sample of 30 female students in the first year of secondary school and designing two tests of sustainable development concepts and a skills assessment. The proposed cloud-based training program was implemented, after the program ended, a post-test was conducted on the same sample to measure the impact of the program on the dependent variables and analyze the differences between the pre- and post-tests. The results of the study demonstrated the effectiveness of the proposed cloud-based program in developing sustainable development concepts and skills among first-year secondary school students. The study recommended the systematic integration of sustainable development concepts into secondary school curricula, including their environmental, economic, and social dimensions in all relevant courses.
