Abstract

Machining is a critical manufacturing process that shapes materials into desired dimensions and surface finishes by removing excess material. This paper provides a comprehensive review of machining processes, including turning, milling, drilling, grinding, and non-traditional methods such as laser and electrochemical machining. Key design guidelines for machinability optimization are discussed, focusing on tool life, cutting parameters, and cost efficiency. The study also evaluates surface finish quality and material removal rates across different processes.
