Abstract

Turning is a fundamental machining process used to produce cylindrical and conical components. This review explores advancements in turning operations, focusing on machinability enhancement through Minimum Quantity Lubrication (MQL) and solid-liquid lubricants. Key factors influencing tool life, surface finish, cutting forces, and temperature are analyzed. The study highlights the shift from traditional flood cooling to MQL, emphasizing environmental and economic benefits. Statistical optimization techniques, including Response Surface Methodology (RSM) and Taguchi-Grey Relational Analysis, are discussed for process improvement. The review concludes with future trends in sustainable machining.
