The study adopted a descriptive analytical approach and was conducted on a sample of (50) social workers working in social affairs units, using a questionnaire whose validity and reliability were verified. The findings revealed a moderate level of work stress and a relatively high level of job performance, as well as a statistically significant negative correlation between work stress and job performance. Significant differences were also found in work stress and job performance according to certain demographic and professional variables. Moreover, work group stress and wage-related stress were identified as the most influential stressors affecting job performance. Based on these findings, a proposed framework from the perspective of social group work was developed, focusing on role clarification, strengthening group support, and improving interaction within work teams, thereby contributing to reducing work stress and enhancing job performance. Keywords: Work Stress – Job Performance – Work Teams – Social Workers – Social Group Work.
