Abstract

The contemporary world is witnessing an unprecedented technological revolution, which has produced new concepts and tools that affect various fields of life. Among the most prominent of these is digital twin technology, a system that relies on creating a virtual model identical to a real physical object, so that it accurately mimics its characteristics, behavior, and performance. This technology has entered the fields of industry, medicine, and engineering, and its impact has even extended to the field of transactions and contracts. It has become possible to digitally describe goods, projects, and real estate in a complete manner before their creation or sale. This raises important jurisprudential questions about the impact of this technology on describing the subject matter of the contract, and whether it is a sufficient means to remove ambiguity and achieve knowledge of the object of sale, or not? Hence, the idea for this research stemmed from the impact of using digital twin technology in manufacturing contracts. The majority of jurists argue that manufacturing contracts involve uncertainty and ambiguity because the subject matter of the contract is nonexistent. What then of the possibility of creating exact and realistic copies of things that exist in our world, but instead of being physical, these copies are digital and exist in virtual reality.
