Abstract
The Arabic language is the foundational pillar in the establishment and identity formation of the Arab Nation. Several constitutions of Arab countries have included a provision stipulating that the Arabic language is the official language of the state, which affirms the Arab identity of those countries and confirms that they are an integral part of the Arab Nation. Similarly, successive Egyptian constitutions have affirmed the Arabic language as the official language of the state, reflecting the Egyptian constitutional legislator's commitment to the Arabic language as an expression of the state's identity and its essential link to the Arab Nation. The constitutional protection of the Arabic language entails significant implications, including the necessity for the Legislative Authority to adhere to the Arabic language in carrying out its work, particularly in legislation drafting. The legislative authority's commitment to Arabic also mandates that it enact legislation supporting the Arabic language and preserving its status. The Egyptian legislator has indeed enacted numerous laws that underscore the importance and supreme status of the Arabic language in various fields. Furthermore, the Executive Authority shall adhere to the Arabic language in all its actions, whether those subject to judicial oversight such as administrative decisions and contracts, or those falling outside judicial jurisdiction, known as acts of sovereignty. Similarly, the Judicial Authority shall adhere to the Arabic language in all its judicial work.
