Abstract
The Egyptian legislator addressed crimes affecting reputation and honor online through the Cybercrime Law No. 175 of 2018, which dealt in Chapter Three of Part Two with crimes related to violating the sanctity of private life and illegal information content. One of the articles stipulated that:"Anyone who intentionally uses a computer program or information technology to process another person's data, in order to link it to content that violates public morals reputation or or to display it in a way that would harm his honor, shall be punished by imprisonment for a period of not less than two years and not exceeding five years, and by a fine of not less than one hundred thousand pounds and not exceeding three hundred thousand pounds, or by one of these two penalties. One of the most significant crimes against public morals is the crime of public indecency, for which the law stipulates a specific element known as the principle of publicity. This means that the act must be committed in a public place and in a manner that is visible to everyone, even if only potentially. By posting videos, writings, or drawings that include through social media. It has been shown that this element can also be fulfilled.
