Dynamic Capabilities and Organizational Excellence: A New Perspective on the Moderating Role of Business Incubators in Egypt’s Established FinTech Startups
Abstract
While the relationship between Dynamic Capabilities (DC) and Organizational Excellence (OE) has received increasing attention within strategic management scholarship, extant literature remains insufficient in explicating this linkage in the context of emerging economies and rapidly evolving sectors such as FinTech. In particular, the moderating influence of Business Incubators (BIs) on this relationship has yet to be thoroughly examined. This study explores the impact of DC operationalized through dimensions of sensing, seizing, and reconfiguring on OE, and the moderating role of BIs on that relationship within Egypt’s Established FinTech startups rather than FinTech startups at pre-inception or early ideation stage. A quantitative survey was conducted, including CEOs, entrepreneurs, and managers from 177 registered startups, yielding 394 valid responses (91% response rate). Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) via Partial Least Squares (PLS) revealed a statistically significant effect (P ≤ 0.050) of DC on OE, with strong interrelations among dimensions. However, BIs showed no significant moderating influence, prompting critical evaluation of their contextual relevance while accounting for critical factors such as Incubator type, design, duration of incubation, and strategic alignment with the requirements of startups.
