Proposed Micro-Learning Content Based on Digital Interaction via Smartphones for Developing Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Students’ Awareness of Occupational Security and Safety Measures
Abstract
The study aimed to identify the effect of the proposed micro-learning content based on digital interaction via smartphones for developing deaf and hard-of-hearing students’ awareness of occupational security and safety measures. To achieve this objective, a checklist of dimensions of awareness regarding the necessary occupational security and safety measures for deaf and hard-of-hearing students, along with the proposed micro learning content in occupational security and safety, a checklist of standards and indicators of designing digital interaction via smartphones and designing the instructional content of digital interaction via smartphones, were developed. The research tool included a scale for measuring awareness of occupational security and safety measures. The research groups were selected from the students at the two Al-Amal Schools for the deaf and hard of hearing in Sohag Governorate (Egypt). The research results concluded that there were differences between the pre-application and post-application results of all three research groups, in favor of the post-application. The students in the first experimental group outperformed the control group students in the post- application of the awareness scale of occupational safety and security measures. Furthermore, the students in the second experimental group outperformed both the first experimental group and the control group students in the post- application of the awareness scale of occupational safety and security measures.
