Abstract

This study looks at how the global shift to Open Banking affects important metrics of financial inclusion. Open Banking, which allows clients to securely exchange their financial data with third-party providers, is meant to boost competition, drive innovation, and lower barriers to financial services access. The study seeks to quantitatively assess this effect by examining how the adoption of Open Banking frameworks interacts with changes in financial inclusion measures such as account ownership, digital payment usage, and credit availability for underprivileged populations .Using a quantitative approach, the study will create a panel dataset from secondary sources, relying on the World Bank's Global Findex database for financial inclusion data and official reports from organizations such as the Financial Stability Board to track Open Banking implementation timelines across countries. By controlling for macroeconomic variables, this study will give data on whether Open Banking fulfills its promise as a catalyst for a more equitable global financial environment.
