Abstract

Background: The Nickel oxide-titanium dioxide/reduced graphene oxide (NiOTiO2/rGO) nanocomposite presents a groundbreaking advancement in the field of energy storage. This article aims to synthesize NiOTiO2/rGO nanocomposite through a simple solvothermal method specifically for use in asymmetric supercapacitors. Methods: The unique crystal structure and morphology of the nanocomposite were meticulously verified using techniques such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), Raman spectroscopy, and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The uniform dispersion of crystalline NiO and TiO2 particles across the rGO multilayers contributes to its electrochemical properties. The Results show that the NiOTiO2/rGO nanocomposite exhibits a specific capacitance of 41.67 F g-1 at a current density of 5 A g-1 in a 1.0 M KOH electrolyte, maintaining 89.37% of its initial capacitance after 5000 charge-discharge cycles. This exceptional performance is attributed to the synergistic effects of the NiO, TiO2, and rGO materials, which together enhance electrical conductivity and provide both faradaic and non-faradaic charge storage mechanisms. Conclusion: These compelling results suggest that the NiOTiO2/rGO nanocomposite holds a significant role as an electrode material for future supercapacitor applications, marking a significant step forward in the development of high-performance energy storage devices.
