Abstract

Pedagogical competences are defined as the knowledge, skills, abilities, attitudes, and values that students acquire during their teacher training and that they can demonstrate in the execution of the teaching and learning process, adapting to the needs of students and the context in order to achieve educational quality. This research aims to evaluate the pedagogical competencies that students have acquired during their teacher training in the Bachelor’s degree in Primary Education. It was conducted with a mixed approach, using a non-experimental cross-sectional design; the techniques of document review, survey, and focus group were employed; an instrument was applied to 109 students who were in their final semester of the program. The results across the various evaluated dimensions indicate that teachers must be able to integrate theoretical knowledge with practical skills; furthermore, it emphasizes the importance of developing socio-emotional skills, respect for diversity, and the creation of cohesive learning communities. https://doi.org/10.21723/riaee.v20i00.2003602
