Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze the contributions of national and international scientific publications in order to outline the main aspects related to the transition of autistic youth into adulthood. Of a bibliographic and exploratory nature, a systematic literature review was conducted using the repositories of the Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations and the CAPES Journal Portal (maintained by the Brazilian Federal Agency for Support and Evaluation of Graduate Education), covering national and international articles published between 2019 and 2024. The publications highlight the importance of guiding autistic youth and their families regarding their legal rights and emphasize the challenges related to accessibility. They also point to support strategies, such as early planning and clear communication about the transition, tailored to the specific needs of the autistic individual, as well as the involvement of family members and professionals to provide emotional support, assist with adaptation, and articulate efforts with educational institutions as key elements throughout the transition process. https://doi.org/10.21723/riaee.v21i00.2032302
