A ausência de comunidade salvífica no teatro de Pedro Penim
Abstract
Pedro Penim’s theatrical trilogy problematizes the nuclear family, intimacy as a space of political struggle, misandry in the feminist movement, and political depression. Written as a love letter to modern social movements, Penim acknowledges the weight placed on young activists, but calls for the de-bourgeoisification of ideology and a more patient and productive intergenerational communication. As an artistic project, Penim’s program is threatened by the expectation of an audience that does not yet exist. We conclude that progress will have to depend on the goodwill of all those involved.
