A ditadura do fofo: uma (insuficiente) salvação do mundo
Abstract
What world do we aspire to save when speaking about saving the world? Can our aesthetic sense intervene in the act of saving? Or is it rather necessary to liberate ourselves from any and all aesthetic hierarchies? In an aestheticized contemporary world, the cute emerges as a partial substitute for the beautiful and the sublime, thus materializing a lens through which we characterize practically everything, from objects to living beings. Through the reading of Isabel Galleymore, Elisabete Marques and Adília Lopes, this essay proposes to explore the cute as an aesthetic category involved in the saving of the world (or, more precisely, worlds).
