Management of Erectile Dysfunction (Klaibya) through Ayurveda approaches: A Case Report
Abstract
Klaibya is characterized by Dhvajanucchraya (absence of penile erection), Aharṣaṇa (lack of sexual arousal), and Maithunasakti-Hani (inability to perform intercourse), even when erection occurs. This highlights both physical and psychological components of the condition, which correlates well with erectile dysfunction. It is a form of sexual dysfunction in males characterized by the persistent or recurring inability to achieve or maintain penile erection with sufficient rigidity and duration for satisfactory sexual activity. This case study aims to evaluate the effect of Saptaprastha Ghrita Uttara Basti (6 Uttara Basti at 3- days intervals) and Kapikacchu Beeja Churna (5 g) oral administration for 30 days in the management of Klaibya (ED). This case report evaluates the therapeutic efficacy of Saptaprastha Ghrita administered via Uttar Basti and Kapikacchu Beeja Churna in a 30-year-old male diagnosed with Klaibya (Erectile Dysfunction). Significant improvements were observed in all subjective parameters, suggesting that this combined approach is safe and effective.
