Writing Together through Institutions II. No Epilogue
Abstract
This afterword of sorts is Ruth Sonderegger’s attempt to examine the role of collaborations during her teaching tenure at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna — a period that began with the “Uni brennt” protests against university reforms in 2009. It also explores how various collaborative engagements with the Academy and its history have changed the author’s teaching, research, and attempts to intervene in the institution. She presents an exploration of the main reconsiderations that these institutional engagements have provided her with, starting with her role as a teacher and philosopher in an art academy and ending with her criticism of some positions within Enlightenment philosophy, an area of research she now sees from a wholly new perspective.
