Data Management plan for a phenomenological study to explore Associate Lecturers’ (AL) sense of agency in response to the implementation of the revised AL contract.
Abstract
This project is being undertaken towards the award of an EdD. Utilising a phenomenological methodology, it seeks to explore Associate Lecturers’ (AL) perceptions of agency in response to the implementation of the revised AL contract.Through understanding the lived experiences of ALs during implementation, the study aims to provide insights into ALs’ sense of agency both temporally and relationally as well as associated impacts upon identity and belief. Such insights – gained from individual interviews - aim to provide greater clarity on how strategic institutional changes are experienced at an individual level. From a broader perspective, it aims to provide a point of reference by which the wider discourse around the role of teaching within HE can be framed. The research questions are:What are the experiences of Associate Lecturers (AL) working within the context of the revised AL contract? How do such experiences impact upon ALs’ sense of agency?
