Data Management Plan - Study 1 - PhD Project: "Exploring Learning Experience Design through XR Technology and Volumetric Video (Study 1)"
Abstract
Volumetric Video (VV) is a form of immersive media that uses multiple cameras to record real people or objects from all angles, creating 3D representations that can be viewed in virtual or mixed reality environments. This Project will investigate how VV can be created, and how the process of creation can be embedded in Learning Experience Design (LXD) to support academics in utilising this emerging technology. The research will unfold across three interconnected studies:· Study 1 will examine how leading companies produce educational VV, with the findings translated into a conceptual model of VV-based learning experience design.· Study 2 will use this model to initiate design conversations with teachers, empowering them to explore VV within their pedagogical contexts, resulting in a refined model with their input.· Study 3 will investigate the impact of teacher-informed, well-designed VV experiences on students and teachers, with findings informing and validating key model components. This Data Management Plan applies exclusively to Study 1. Separate Data Management Plans will be prepared for Studies 2 and 3 in line with the research schedule, reflecting their specific methodologies, data types, and ethical considerations.
