Abstract
Background. At the stage of internship, professional competencies of a doctor are being formed, which are based on the appropriate level of theoretical and practical training to ensure professional readiness for independent medical activity in accordance with the title of a specialist doctor. The formation of basic skills of independent work during internship makes it possible to form the skills of intellectual, educational and scientific activity of future specialist doctors. The purpose of the article is to substantiate and systematize the main approaches to organizing the independent work of future medical specialists during internship training. Materials and methods. Sources of scientific literature on the topic were used with logical-structural analysis and data generalization. To be a highly qualified specialist doctor in modern conditions, independent work is a necessary component of training, namely, the ability to search for the necessary information and its adequate application, as well as the assimilation of knowledge are formed. An important task in the organization of independent work of interns is the development of intellectual skills in them, which encourages the subject of training to be creative. In the process of independent work organization, various types are distinguished, which depend on the level of mastery of general (educational and organizational, educational and informational, educational and intellectual, creative, control and evaluation) skills and educational activity of interns. Conclusions. Independent work is one of the important and active duties of an intern, which is carefully planned, organized and controlled by the teacher, is aimed at achieving the set goal, but is carried out without the participation of the supervisor. The effectiveness of independent work influences the results of interns’ training (the amount and quality of theoretical and practical knowledge obtained) and their further professional activity (the ability to professional self-improvement). The organization of independent work of an intern is an approach to the active implementation of practice-oriented training aimed at bringing the educational process closer to the real needs of clinical activity after completing internship training. Thus, the independent work of an intern should be considered as an innovative technology integrated into the system of acquiring professional competencies, which contributes to the formation of a holistic figure of a specialist doctor who is ready to perform professional tasks in a competitive environment.
