Abstract

This study aims to synthesize SiO₂/Ag nanocomposite (NC) by hydrothermal method (Barbosa, A. D. et al., 2012; Morales, S. L. et al., 2014; Madathil, A. N. P. et al., 2007) and chemical reduction using aqueous extracts of Chenopodium ambrosioides L. (epazote) as reducing and stabilizing agents to synthesize SiO₂/Ag NC. For the characterization of the nanocomposites, it was used techniques such as transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), FTIR and UV-Vis spectroscopy to analyze the morphology, structure and functional properties of the synthesized NC. The synthesized NC aims to remediate wastewater for agricultural use.
