Abstract

Borders, understood through the lived experiences of both migrants and researchers, provide a way of approaching the border cities of Colombia, Venezuela, and Mexico in the book Convergencias migratorias: expresiones y reflexiones en ciudades fronterizas de América Latina [Migratory convergences: expressions and reflections in border cities of Latin America]. This review aims to introduce the content of a work that emerged from an academic collaboration situated in the Global South, and that simultaneously makes it possible to understand global realities as they are embodied in the local. The text consists of a summary of the book’s eight chapters, an acknowledgment of its contributions, and a discussion of the challenges its content poses for border studies.
