Case study on homeopathic management of facial pityriasis alba in a child
Abstract
Pityriasis alba (PA) is a common, benign skin disorder in children, characterized by hypopigmented, scaly patches, mainly on the face. Though self-limiting, it can cause cosmetic concern and psychological distress. Worldwide prevalence is higher in darker-skinned children and in regions with high sun exposure [1, 2]. Conventional treatment includes emollients and mild corticosteroids, which provide temporary relief. Homeopathy offers a holistic approach, addressing constitutional symptoms and individual susceptibility [3]. This case study from Dr. Batra’s Homeopathy Clinic demonstrates successful management of PA using individualized homeopathic remedies, resulting in complete resolution of lesions and improved general well-being. The report highlights the potential role of homeopathy as a safe and effective adjunct in pediatric dermatology.
