Survey of light-attracted praying mantis species in Dodamarg Tehsil, Sindhudurg District, Western Ghats, Maharashtra
Abstract
A survey of light- attracted praying mantis species were conducted in Dodamarg Tehsil of Sindhudurg district. A total of 07 species of belonging to 07 subfamilies of 04 families, and 06 genera were collected from different light sources. Among these, Humbertiella indica was commonly observed around various indoor and outdoor lights, including residential areas and streetlights. The current study represents the first survey of light- attracted praying mantis species from Dodamarg Tehsil.
