Abstract

Participation is sports activities. Sports psychology, as an academic discipline, has existed for nearly a century, with its primary objective being to understand how psychological techniques can enhance sports performance. Although substantial analytical evidence is available regarding the relationship between sports psychology and athletic performance, a comprehensive systematic review of this literature remains limited. The present study aims to synthesize existing research to gain deeper insights into the overall impact of sports psychology on sports performance. Sports psychology focuses on understanding psychological processes and interpersonal relationships that promote better adaptation of individuals to sporting situations, thereby optimizing personal resources such as autonomy, self-awareness, and self-regulation for improved performance outcomes.
