Para sports play a vital role in the holistic development of children with intellectual and developmental disorders (IDD). Beyond physical fitness, engagement in para sports fosters emotional resilience, social inclusion, cognitive skill enhancement, self-esteem, and quality of life. This paper investigates the multifaceted impacts of para sports on development outcomes in special children with IDD, reviews current practices, highlights challenges, and suggests evidence-based strategies to maximize the potential benefits of para sports programs.
