Abstract

The present study analyzed shooting performance using the SCATT system among 60 shooters from the Kerala Sports Council, comprising 30 novice and 30 experienced players drawn equally from university, state, and national levels. Shooting experience served as the independent variable, while SCATT parameters were the dependent variables. A static group research design was adopted, and data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson’s product-moment correlation, and factorial ANOVA. The findings revealed that experienced shooters scored significantly higher than novice shooters on SCATT shot score, irrespective of competition level, indicating improved control and stability with experience. National-level shooters also outperformed university- and state-level shooters, suggesting the influence of advanced training and competitive exposure. However, among novice shooters, state- and national-level players exhibited similar SCATT shot score characteristics.
