A Comparative study of sports confidence among Mallakhamb Players across different levels of achievement
Abstract
Chronic low back pain (CLBP) is a prevalent musculoskeletal condition that significantly impairs functional ability, work productivity, and quality of life. Among non-pharmacological management strategies, interferential current (IFC) electrotherapy has gained attention as an adjunct modality within physiotherapy and rehabilitation programs. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of interferential current electrotherapy in reducing pain intensity and improving functional outcomes in individuals with chronic low back pain. A structured physiotherapy rehabilitation protocol incorporating IFC, therapeutic exercises, and patient education was implemented over a defined treatment period. Outcome measures included pain severity, range of motion, and functional disability scores assessed pre- and post-intervention. Findings suggest that interferential current electrotherapy, when combined with conventional physiotherapy, contributes to significant pain reduction and functional improvement. The analgesic effects of IFC are attributed to enhanced circulation, neuromodulation, and stimulation of endogenous pain control mechanisms. Integrating interferential current electrotherapy into comprehensive rehabilitation programs may enhance recovery and support long-term management of chronic low back pain. Further controlled studies are recommended to establish standardized treatment parameters and long-term efficacy.
