A functional analytic framework for modeling and resolving problem behaviours under structured conditions
Abstract
Classical models of problem behaviour and decision dynamics are frequently formulated using finite-dimensional state variables and heuristic update rules, which limits their capacity to represent persistence, instability, and constraint-driven correction mechanisms in structured systems. Such approaches often lack a principled treatment of state-dependent constraints and operator-induced feedback, particularly when behaviours evolve in infinite-dimensional or function-valued settings. This work develops a functional-analytic formulation in which behaviours are modeled as elements of Banach or Hilbert spaces and their evolution is governed by linear and nonlinear operators under admissible structural conditions. The framework incorporates state operators, constraint mappings, and feedback mechanisms using tools from operator theory and dynamical systems. Resolution mechanisms are interpreted as operator-induced stabilization processes acting on constrained state trajectories. By embedding behavioural dynamics within a rigorously defined functional setting, the proposed approach enables precise statements on existence, stability, and convergence under structured conditions, offering a mathematically grounded alternative to classical descriptive models.
