Clinical outcome of individualized homeopathic treatment in recurrent respiratory tract infections in a pediatric patient: A case report
Abstract
Background: Recurrent respiratory tract infections (RRTI) are a common cause of morbidity in pediatric age groups and significantly affect growth, immunity, and quality of life. Conventional management often involves repeated use of antibiotics and symptomatic drugs. Homeopathy, based on individualized constitutional treatment and Materia Medica, offers a holistic approach to improve immunity and reduce recurrence. Objective: To evaluate the clinical outcome of individualized homeopathic treatment in a pediatric patient suffering from recurrent respiratory tract infections. Case Presentation: A 6-year-old male child presented with frequent episodes of cough, cold, fever, tonsillitis, and poor appetite occurring every month for the last 2 years. After detailed case taking and constitutional evaluation, an individualized homeopathic medicine was prescribed. The child was followed for 10 months. Results: Significant reduction in frequency, severity, and duration of infections was observed along with improvement in appetite, weight, and general well-being. Conclusion: This case demonstrates the role of individualized homeopathic treatment based on Materia Medica in managing recurrent respiratory tract infections in children.
