Abstract

Lifestyle disorders, including diabetes mellitus, cardiovascular diseases, hypertension, obesity, and metabolic syndrome, have emerged as major global health challenges because of bad eating habits, sedentary lifestyles, fast urbanization, and psychological stress. Even though synthetic medications are frequently used to treat them, long-term treatment is frequently linked to negative side effects, high cost, & reduced patient compliance. Herbal drugs, derived from medicinal plants, have gained renewed scientific interest owing to their safety, multi-targeted action, and traditional acceptance. This review comprehensively discusses the role of herbal drugs in the management and avoidance of lifestyle disorders, emphasizing their pharmacological activities, bioactive constituents, mechanisms of action, and recent research advancements. Special focus is given to well-documented medicinal plants such as Terminalia arjuna, Azadirachta indica (Neem), Curcuma longa, and other promising herbal candidates. Challenges, recent innovations, and future perspectives in herbal drug research are also highlighted.
