Abstract
This experimental study examined the effect of the Common Yoga Protocol (CYP) on breath holding capacity among inter university yoga players of Banaras Hindu University. Sixty male players (18-23 years) were randomly assigned to a CYP training group (n = 30) and a control group (n = 30). The experimental group underwent eight weeks of CYP training (six days per week), while the control group continued their routine activities. Positive and Negative Breath Holding Capacity were assessed pre and post intervention using a stopwatch and nose clip, and data were analyzed with descriptive statistics and ANCOVA at the 0.05 significance level. Pre test results showed no significant differences between groups for either variable, confirming baseline homogeneity. Post test ANCOVA, however, revealed significant improvements favouring the CYP group for both Positive Breath Hold Capacity (F = 4.319, p
