CP Violation in Baryon Decays at LHCb
Abstract
The LHCb experiment has recently achieved several major breakthroughs in the study of CP violation in the baryon sector. Using the full Run~1 and Run~2 datasets, LHCb has reported the first observation of CP violation in baryon decays in $\Lambda_b^0 \to pK^- \pi^+ \pi^-$ with a significance of $5.2\sigma$. Evidence for CP violation has also been established in charmless $\Lambda_b^0 \to \Lambda K^+ K^-$ decays at the $3.1\sigma$ level, and in beauty-to-charmonium transitions through the asymmetry difference between $\Lambda_b^0 \to J/\psi p\pi^-$ and $\Lambda_b^0 \to J/\psi pK^-$, reaching a combined significance of $3.9\sigma$. In addition, LHCb has performed the first determination of decay parameters in $\Lambda_b^0 \to \Lambda_c^+ h^-$ decays, finding results consistent with CP symmetry. This proceeding summarises these measurements and highlights their implications for understanding CP violation in beauty baryon decays.
