String tension and Polyakov loop in a rotating background
Abstract
We investigate the impact of rotation on the string tension and the confinement–deconfinement transition temperature in gluodynamics using gauge/gravity duality. Rotation is introduced through two different methods, namely the global and local transformations, and the corresponding results are compared. We find that the string tension extracted from the heavy quarkonium free energy decreases as the angular velocity increases. In contrast, the transition temperature determined from the Polyakov loop exhibits an increasing behavior with angular velocity, which is consistent with lattice simulations.
