Abstract

The following research sought to understand the new reality that entrepreneurial or independent mothers in the creative and cultural sector have had to face and endure during the Covid-19 pandemic. Through semi-structured interviews and the use of photovoice with a sample of 13 women who are also mothers, this research highlights the complexity in balancing work, creative, domestic, caregiving, and emotional aspects, which impacts this segment. Assigned the socially attributed role as mothers, domestic and caregiving tasks fall almost exclusively on them, while they also face emerging difficulties in carrying out their creative processes and work in the field, in a labor environment that was already precarious before the pandemic but has worsened because of recent events.
