Dynamic distribution and excretion of cadmium in different tissues and organs in mice
Abstract
This study explored the dynamic changes of cadmium content in the tissues and organs of cadmium-exposed mice at different periods. A mice model of cadmium exposure was constructed to determine cadmium content in various tissues and organs of mice at different times. The order of cadmium content in tissues in was as follows: liver > pancreas > feces > spleen > kidney > testis > heart > small intestine > lung (1st week). liver > pancreas > kidney > heart > spleen > feces > testis > lung > small intestine (2nd week). liver > kidney > pancreas > spleen > testis > heart > feces > lung > small intestine (4th week). kidney > liver > pancreas > spleen > heart > testis > feces > lung > small intestine (6th week). liver > kidney > spleen > pancreas > heart > testis > small intestine > feces > lung (8th week). The results showed that the mice quickly initiated the detoxification and excretion mechanism after exposed to cadmium. The cadmium excretion function of the liver and pancreas was initiated, leading to a rapid enhancement of cadmium content in the feces.
