Peter Chew Statin Management Formula (High-Risk Individuals) . A Novel Approach Statin Management , Reducing Stroke Recurrence, Mitigating Cancer Risk and Saving High Global Healthcare Costs Calculating OPTIMUM Statin Dose to Enable Healthy Lifestyle
Abstract
Background: Clinical guidelines (AHA/ACC 2018) prioritize healthy lifestyle as the cardiovascular health foundation. However, high-dose statins cause muscle pain in 10-25% of patients, preventing the exercise needed for healthy weight. Guidelines state WHAT to do but not HOW when medication blocks it. Objective: Provide a mathematical formula calculating OPTIMUM statin dose to maintain LDL ≤1.8 mmol/L while eliminating muscle pain, thereby enabling exercise and healthy weight achievement. The formula works bidirectionally: reduces dose when LDL too low (enables exercise), increases dose when LDL rises (maintains protection). Methods: Formula derived from Peter Chew LDL Rebound Formula, validated using NIH statin efficacy data (Feingold 2024) and author's post-stroke case study. Results: Formula successfully calculates optimum dose in both directions: (1) reduces when LDL too low to eliminate muscle pain and prevent some side effect statin, (2) increases when LDL rises to maintain stroke prevention. Monthly monitoring detects lifestyle compliance through LDL changes. Conclusion: This formula helps guidelines work by providing the missing detail solution. Guidelines say WHAT (healthy lifestyle priority); this formula shows HOW (calculate optimum dose → eliminate muscle pain → enable exercise). Together, they achieve optimal outcomes— stroke prevention maintained while healthy lifestyle becomes possible
