Abstract

HIGHLIGHTS • We have produced a near real-time forest change alert named LUCA+ by fusing Sentinel-1 and ALOS2 radar images over the Congo basin. • The fusion of Sentinel-1 and ALOS2 improved the cadence of the alerts and better characterized disturbances. • Our analysis reveals there is a dramatic increase of deforestation in unprotected regions in Cameroon.
