Abstract

Spiritual refinement is a part of our essential moral self. As a seedbed of moral consciousness, spiritual refinement is a perpetual activity, as well as a reservoir of experiences, needed for shaping the world and responding to its ethical demands. Begun as moral insight and utilizing the moral imagination, the actual details and social structures of morality are developed and applied in real life situations where they mature and change as they overlap and are tempered by others.
