Abstract

This report details the findings of a PhD placement project seeking to determine what information end users wish to find from the BL regarding climate change, sustainability and nature loss, and which collections within the BL may be relevant. Information was gathered via focus groups and personal interviews with BL staff members. Currently the BL knows very little about what its users’ needs are regarding content to do with climate, sustainability and nature loss. Who is using the collection for this topic is also unknown. Further, targeted research is required to identify this. However, BL staff are aware of what changes would improve the end user experience when it comes to accessing the collection and collection queries related to climate, sustainability and nature loss. Major issues regarding the discoverability and accessibility of the collection where identified and desirable changes to solve these were recommended.
