Abstract

Among manufacturing companies, there is an increasingly pronounced trend toward the automation of intralogistics processes, primarily aimed at maximizing efficiency and optimizing the use of human labor. The aim of this manuscript is to present the historical background of this trend, its developmental directions, and the technological solutions of automation, with particular focus on autonomous mobile robots (AGVs) used for transportation and storage tasks, as well as automated warehouse systems with robotic technologies. Furthermore, this document explores the future potential of humanoid robots, their applicability in industrial settings, and the labor market and societal impacts triggered by these changes. The analysis sheds light on the challenges, experiences, and opportunities of implementing automated intralogistics systems through the practical experiences of the company EMERSON.
