Abstract

INTRODUCTION: A 77-year-old patient developed community-acquired pneumonia four times within two years. During the work-up, the CT chest showed typical signs of dendriform pulmonary ossification (DPO), a rare disease characterized by bone formation in the lung tissue. DPO usually occurs in chronic lung damage, its clinical significance is still unclear, but it could become more relevant with increasing high-resolution diagnostics.
